About DevUtils India
A free, privacy-first toolbox for working developers.
DevUtils India is an independent collection of fast, ad-supported online utilities for software engineers. The site groups commonly-needed tools — UUID generation, JSON formatting, JWT decoding, CIDR math, regex testing, fake data generation, typing speed measurement and many others — under a single navigation tree so you do not have to bookmark a dozen separate sites.
The project began in early 2025 as a personal scratchpad. Most existing developer tooling sites are either bloated with trackers, paywalled past the first few requests, or simply slow. We wanted a lightweight alternative that ran almost entirely in the browser, treated visitors with respect, and did not require an account to format ten kilobytes of JSON.
What makes this different
- Client-side first. Almost every tool on the site processes your data inside your browser. JSON formatting, hash generation, base64 encoding, CSV conversion and the like never leave your device. No server roundtrip means no opportunity for a third party to log your input.
- No account walls. Every utility is free and instantly usable. There are no "premium" tiers, no soft limits, and no email gates.
- Fast and accessible. The interface is keyboard-friendly, supports light and dark themes, and ships a small JavaScript payload by design. It loads quickly even on slow networks.
- Built for daily use. The tools are picked from real day-to-day developer workflows — not from a list of trending keywords. If a feature does not solve a real problem we have personally run into, it does not get added.
Who it is for
DevUtils India is aimed at backend engineers, frontend developers, QA engineers, SREs, DevOps practitioners, data analysts and students learning to code. If your day involves staring at logs, writing tests, configuring infrastructure, modelling data, or shipping features, you will probably find at least three tools on the site that earn a permanent home in your bookmarks bar.
How the project is funded
The site shows non-intrusive contextual advertisements served through Google AdSense. That revenue covers hosting, the domain renewal, and the occasional library license. We do not sell user data, do not run popups, and do not place ads inside tool output panels. If you would like to support the project beyond viewing ads, the best thing you can do is share a link with a colleague who would find it useful.
Roadmap
Active areas of work include: a Markdown to HTML converter, a cron expression visualiser, a SQL explain plan formatter, a JSON Schema generator, and a small library of code style guides. We publish updates roughly monthly. Suggestions are welcome via the contact page.
